Description
This apatite pendant with pink tourmaline features a textured silver backplate. The silver surface is textured in a unique way. First it is struck with a hammer, and then it is beaten against a paved surface. The apatite is woven in place with my signature “Boglioli Method”, and there are two pink tourmaline stones. One stone is set in the pendant, and one in the chain as an accent.
Details
This apatite pendant is about 22 mm tall (7/8 inch) and 13 mm wide (1/2 inch). It is attached to an 18 inch cable chain which has a pink tourmaline set as an accent on one side.
Apatite
Apatite is a widely occurring green mineral, consisting of calcium phosphate with some fluorine, chlorine, and other elements. I chose to use it in this design for it’s attractive bright green color.

Tourmaline
Tourmaline is a gem that can come in many different colors. The presence of manganese in the mineral is what makes the pink variety. It was first discovered sometime in the 1500s by a Spanish conquistador in Brazil. It is one of the birthstones for October, along with opal.
